Graduate Writing Lab

Graduate Writing Lab

The Graduate Writing Lab (GWL) offers free appointments for graduate students. Students meet with trained and certified graduate tutors who offer helpful feedback on any kind of writing at any point in the process.

Graduate Writing Lab Spring 2024 Schedule:
  • Monday - Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
  • Sunday - 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Support Styles:
  • Graduate Writing Lab - Writing Tutoring
  • Graduate Writing Lab - Feedback Loop

The Graduate Writing Lab is a collaboration between the Graduate Center and THINK TANK. Emphasizing peer collaboration, we help each writer grow over the course of their career at the University of Arizona through several styles of consultations, workshops, and events.

During each session, tutors get acquainted with the student’s writing, answer questions, identify patterns, make recommendations, and help the student come up with a plan for moving forward. Tutors can serve as a second set of eyes on personal statements, application essays, lab reports, theses, dissertations, resumes, fellowships, and even professional emails. While Graduate Tutors cannot help students with exams, we are happy to help with all other types of writing.

You can use the scheduling system Retain to sign up for Graduate Writing Lab services. Limit one appointment per day and two appointments per week. Please book no more than three appointments at a time.
