Support We Provide
Math Exam Prep is offered in person for Math 112, 116, 120R, 122A/B, and 129. If you are enrolled in one of these courses, you will receive an email before each review inviting you to register.
Each 2-hour session is designed to help you build confidence for your exam by focusing on the topics you need most.
Each Math Exam Prep Leader led session includes:
- Individual and group work: spend time working independently on your own tablet/laptop or in groups on a digital problem set, with Exam Prep Leaders checking in to provide support
- Interactive learning: walkthrough of the most challenging problems based on live feedback
- Open Q&A: ask our Exam Prep Leaders any lingering questions you have
- Optional follow-up support: attend an optional follow-up session 1–2 days later, included in the session fee
About Our Math Exam Prep Leaders
Our Exam Prep Leaders are THINK TANK tutors who receive training on group facilitation techniques and math content, observe experienced Exam Prep Leaders, and are evaluated on their own skills each semester. Their training and the work they do tutoring math each week prepare them well to help you work through those tough topics on your upcoming exam.
Math Exam Prep Policies
Each Math Exam Prep Session costs $25. By signing up for a session, you agree to have your Bursar’s account billed unless you have received a THINK TANK scholarship for the service.
Attendance is taken at every session. If you attend a session you did not sign up for, you will be billed $25 for the session based on the attendance roster.
An optional follow up session is included with the purchase of a Math Exam Prep session for a specific course and exam. If you attend a follow up session, but you did not sign up for a Math Exam Prep session for that exam, you will be billed $25 for the session based on the attendance roster.
Registering for a Math Exam Prep gives you access to the optional follow up session for the specific exam that the session was designed for. The cost cannot cover free admission to follow up sessions for other exams, even if you miss or do not attend the optional follow up for the Math Exam Prep session you paid for.
We offer multiple sessions for each exam. Each session for a given exam covers the same material. We encourage you to only sign up for one session unless you feel you would benefit from reviewing the same material more than once and want to pay for multiple sessions.
Sessions must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. You will be billed for any session you sign up for and do not cancel on time.
You can cancel sessions in our scheduling system. If you cannot cancel in the scheduling system, you must contact our reception desk staff. If you call when we are closed, please leave a voicemail. Do not contact the Exam Prep Leader directly to cancel.
If you would like to attend a different session than the one you signed up for, you must contact our reception desk staff to notify us of the change.
