Feedback Loop
Feedback Loop is a great way to have your writing reviewed by one of our tutors without needing to meet with a tutor face-to-face. It is asynchronous, meaning you submit your writing and one of our certified peer tutors reviews your document and sends you feedback at the time you've scheduled.
This free service is ideal for anyone who is in the drafting stages of their work and:
Has a busy schedule that does not really allow for in-person or Zoom appointments.
Prefers written feedback.
How Feedback Loop Works
In our scheduling system, students can book a 45-minute time slot for tutors to review their document and provide feedback through comments. If you cannot find an available time slot when scheduling, you have the option to join the Waiting List, which can be accessed in the bottom right corner of a calendar for any given day.
When booking the session, you will answer several questions about your writing and upload the document you would like reviewed in a .doc, .docx, or .pdf format. It is also very helpful to upload a prompt and/or rubric so that our tutors better understand the expectations for your writing. As with any Writing Center session, it is helpful to direct the tutors to areas that you would like them to focus on and include specific questions that can guide their review.
Once you submit your intake form and document, you will receive a confirmation email that you have scheduled a Feedback Loop session. You can cancel your session or attach an updated draft of your writing up to 30 minutes before the start time by logging back into the scheduling system and viewing the details on the My Appointments page.
Within 15–30 minutes of your scheduled session end time, you will receive two emails: one with your post-session notes and one with the tutor's in-text feedback in a file attachment. If you have not received these emails within 4 hours of your session, please contact the Writing Center.
We recommend revising your work before booking another Feedback Loop session.
