Marketing Assistant

THINK TANK’s goal is to assist students in becoming independent learners by providing a range of resources that develop students’ skills and help them succeed academically. Under the supervision of the Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Assistant will develop communication campaigns designed to raise awareness of THINK TANK services within the University of Arizona community. Funding for this position is mainly provided through a Department of Education Title III HSI STEM grant: Project CREAR. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing plans and templated materials for Project CREAR and accompanying supplemental instruction 
  • Design and schedule social media posts in collaboration with supervisor; includes developing content ideas, drafting copy, sourcing content, and taking photos/video as needed
  • Design print and digital materials to promote THINK TANK services and special events; distribute and/or post across campus as needed
  • Review designs for accuracy in content and logo/brand requirements
  • Assist Marketing Specialist in assembling marketing materials for THINK TANK events
  • Research best practices in the field of university marketing; keep up to date with new social media platforms and best practices
  • Assist in tracking social media engagement statistics
  • Complete tasks according to scheduled deadlines
  • Abide by University of Arizona Code of Conduct and Academic Code of Integrity

Required Qualifications

  • Current University of Arizona student enrolled in at least 6 units
  • Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Interest in planning and executing social media marketing strategies
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly professional and punctual
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Committed to creating a welcoming and positive environment for all students and sensitive to student diversity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graphic design skills
  • Photography/videography skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud apps (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Spark, etc.)
  • Experience with creating social media content (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
