Alexis Wehr

Instructional Specialist Coordinator

Hi, my name is Alexis Wehr and I'm the Instructional Specialist Coordinator. My educational background consists of a B.S. in Mathematics, B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, and a M.Ed. in Teaching and Teacher Education through the Teach Arizona program – all from the University of Arizona.  I consider myself a life-long learner and still attend classes that interest me.  To date I’ve taken several courses in computer programming/electrical engineering, teaching methods, math, and dance!  In Spring 2020 I will receive my Graduate Certificate in Teaching Introductory Community College Mathematics from NAU.  Professionally, I’ve been working as a math tutor or teacher since 2009.  My teaching experience includes 1 year at Flowing Wells High School and then joining the Think Tank Test Prep team in 2015. I now develop curriculum and teach the quantitative portions of the GRE, GMAT, SAT and the analytical reasoning (logic games) of the LSAT.  In my spare time you’ll find me supporting the arts around Tucson, exploring the world, or practicing acrobatic yoga.

Shad Smith

MCAT Instructional Development Specialist

Hello! My name is Shad Smith. As the MCAT Instructional Development Specialist it is my job to help students understand and prepare for the MCAT examination as part of the application process for medical school.

My academic background consists of degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics (B.S.) with a Math Minor and Teaching and Teacher Education (M.Ed.) from the University of Arizona. As a 98th percentile MCAT scorer I understand what it takes to succeed and it is my goal to guide students in their preparation for such a rigorous exam. I’m excited to show my students that anybody who is willing to put in the time and effort will take positive steps towards their personal MCAT goal score and the eventual goal of being accepted into medical school!
