Francesca L. Nesfield
With a diverse and rich background in education, Dr. Francesca L. Nesfield serves as the Supplemental Instruction (SI) Manager, where her work is deeply rooted in student-centered learning and support. Her experience spans K-12 to higher education, focusing on creating learning environments that foster collaboration and student success. From teaching and designing student-focused programs to establishing learning spaces like learning centers, Dr. Nesfield’s professional journey is dedicated to supporting and empowering students.
Having worked with a broad range of student populations, including STEM students, first-generation learners, post-traditional students, and English Language Learners, Dr. Nesfield brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Her work in the classroom, coupled with strong partnerships with faculty and academic departments, informs her approach to the Supplemental Instruction Program at THINK TANK and its continued growth and development across the University of Arizona.
Dr. Nesfield core belief as a Supplemental Instruction Manager is that collaboration is the key to success. "We learn and work best in collaboration with a shared goal and vision," she asserts, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the SI program, its community, and the partnerships that make it thrive.
Her academic background reflects her commitment to lifelong learning. Dr. Nesfield earned her Ed.D. from Pepperdine University, along with a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Teaching International Languages from California State University, Chico.
Her passion for learning is not only a career but a personal pursuit, with Dr. Nesfield continually exploring new avenues of knowledge.
