Emily Macaluso

Learning Specialist

Hi, I'm Emily and I am a Learning Specialist at the THINK TANK. I am passionate about helping students deepen their joy of learning by understanding what they care about and how they learn best. My career unfolded at the intersection of K-12 education and forced migration, where I've had the pleasure of working with students who haven't had the "average" school experience. I've learned there are many paths to success and enjoy helping students chart their own unique journey forward. In my free time, I love to travel, remodel my home, and spend time in the Arizona sunshine.

Nora Caragan

Learning Specialist

Hi, my name is Nora Caragan and my pronouns are she/her/ella, and I am a brand new Learning Specialist at THINK TANK. It has been my dream to be Learning Specialist at the University of Arizona since I was a freshman here, with my own Learning Specialist. As a Learning Specialist, I meet with students one-on-one to discuss everything in a student’s life. We can talk about academic and non-academic aspects of a student’s life. We can talk about academic success skills and making the transition to being a successful college student.

I am a proud member of the Jewish and LGBTQ+ communities. I got my undergraduate degree in Special Education, Deaf Studies, with a double minor in Sociology and Public Health right here at the University of Arizona. Currently, I am thinking about getting my Master’s degree in School Counseling.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our golden doodle (ask me to see a picture, I am a little obsessed.) I love to travel, play board games, knit and try new and interesting foods. If you have any questions about what I do as a Learning Specialist, or about what THINK TANK can offer to support you, don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing me at norac@arizona.edu. I look forward to hearing from you.

Carly Winetrobe

Learning Specialist Coordinator

Hello! I’m Carly (she/her) and as a Learning Specialist Coordinator, I meet with one-on-one with Schedule for Success and Academic Coaching students. One of the best parts of my job is getting to know my students – I have the opportunity to learn about their experiences, celebrate their successes, and support them holistically during their time at Arizona. Each student's goals, successes, and challenges are different and I learn from them all the time.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona and an online Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I continually navigate and manage my own stress and anxiety – it is an ongoing process that takes practice and intentional work.

I have lived in Tucson for most of my life and love the desert (especially monsoons!). I enjoy eating delicious food with friends and family, watching and attending college sports, and walking up and down every aisle of The Container Store to admire the plethora of organizational gadgets.
