Nick Cenegy, Ph.D.
As an Associate Director of THINK TANK I oversee both student-led and professional-led programs that support students academically. These programs include our content-focused tutoring, exam prep sessions, and Supplemental Instruction, as well as the Writing Center. I have been in student learning support since 2016, primarily leading writing centers.
I have a doctorate in English from Texas A&M University with a research focus on the convergence of literature and Continental Philosophy. I have a forthcoming book stemming from this work, titled Riot of Language: On the Performativity of Terrorism (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025). I also research and present on a variety of subjects related to writing center administration, training, and writing pedagogy.
Before moving into student support, I was a composition instructor at several universities and colleges and also worked as a print journalist in Texas and Alabama. I co-authored a book on child abuse and neglect called There Must Be A Witness: Stories of Abuse, Advocacy, and the Fight to Put Children First (NewSouth Press, 2017) with Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb (ret).
I enjoy spending time with my wife and three kids, especially when we get the chance to camp and hike in the amazing landscape around Tucson.
