Angel Navarro

Learning Specialist, Senior

Hi, my name is Angel Navarro (he/him/his), and I am a Learning Specialist, Senior at THINK TANK. As a Learning Specialist, Senior I meet with students one-on-one to discuss all aspects of their life and help them refine their academic skill set that can contribute to their success at the University of Arizona. I enjoy getting to know students from various backgrounds and find ways to support them as they make the transition to becoming well–rounded students both academically and in life. In my senior role, I supervise the Academic Skills Tutors who are a team of undergraduates that meet individually with students and help them create a holistic plan which can help the students they meet with be successful during their time at the university.

I am a proud member of the Tohono O’odham Nation, LGBTQ+ community, as well as a first-generation graduate of the University of Arizona! I got my undergraduate degree in Literacy, Learning, and Leadership with a Community Education emphasis. After a short academic hiatus, I took on graduate school and got my Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. I’ve continued my educational journey and am currently in my second master’s program in the Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling program at The University of Arizona!

During my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, living life through experiences by traveling, and attending as many concerts as I can. I love trying new and exciting food places and being the best cat dad to our four cat rascals. If you have any questions regarding my role as a Learning Specialist, Senior or about THINK TANK, don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing me at angeln@arizona.edu. I look forward to hearing from you. Bear Down!
